"Calvaries"

04/11/2022

You may encounter calvaries when you receive a hopeless diagnosis from the doctor. Rebellious or wayward children create calvaries for their parents. Relatives who are unsaved and blind to the ways of God create calvaries. Unfaithful spouses create calvaries that can wreck havoc on entire families for generations.

Loss of health, jobs, homes, positions, money or tenure can create calvaries that many are unable to recover from in the natural. The death of a loved one is "a calvary" no one in life escapes. Live long enough and you will experience the intense pain and anguish associated with grief and loss. Death, no matter when it happens stings and last forever in some shape, fashion or form.

COVID-19 and the Pandemic created mass calvaries that many are still trying to figure out. Calvaries, though difficult, do not defeat us unless we allow them too. Just like Jesus, we can overcome by the blood of the Lamb, and by the Word of your testimony (Revelations 12:11). Had Satan known the entire Calvary story, I am sure he would have developed another strategy.

Jesus death restored dominion, power and authority to believers. God knew the entire plan and that it was good. So, the hope and future that may elude you today is still coming. If you are unaware of the power of the resurrection (Philippians 3:10), you will underestimate your own power to overcome your present calvaries. Once we understand the power of the Cross and the temporary, but necessary deaththat took place with Jesus, we can then focus on "all power" given to us as believers, according to Matthew 28:18.

You might be in the midst of calvaries, but your resurrection is imminent. God is faithful and His timing may seem far off, but He is never late. Calvaries are places of struggle that we will continue to discuss throughout the month of April so stay tuned... Until then remember, "What seems impossible with men, is possible with God." Keep believing and your resurrection will come. We can do all things in Christ and I say so!
