Stand Still and See!

07/07/2021

To see miracles sometimes we have to  stand back and be still.  In other words, we must get out of our on way, but  specifically  get out of  God's way, our miracle maker.  Often, we don't do this because we like to be in control. When flesh is controlling us we are in unbelief.  Like most, we all have seasons where faith is challenged and unbelief creeps in, Mark 9:23-25 addresses unbelief.  In that, the man tells Jesus that he believes but to help his unbelief.

Notice, the man said he believed, but understood that he needed some additional help to increase his faith for whatever he was seeking Jesus for. Unbelief is still belief, just a lower form of belief. Just like levels of prayer, there are levels of belief.  The more you walk with God in any area, the more proficient you become in it, the easier it is to believe.

Unbelief is anchored in the senses where the visible, reasonable, known rules our thoughts.  It honors the natural realm and makes it superior to the spiritual realm, when in actuality, the spiritual  is ALWAYS superior. This is why Jesus taught the disciples in the Lord's Prayer,  Luke 11, "Thy Kingdom come, they will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." Heaven is the model for how our lives should be lived in the earth realm.

Faith knows the spiritual realm is real and that the natural realm is no match for God's kingdom.  God's kingdom come means we are praying heaven, God's perfect will into our situation, into the earth. So stop focusing on what you understand and look to God where you help truly comes from. Apostle Paul says carnal minds can not receive spiritual things (Romans 8:6-11). Being spirt led is a learned process and must be embraced even if you are afraid.

Low levels of belief hinders miracles. The world is a great "unbelief teacher." News, social media, negative friends and family, our own negative words and things that exalt itself against the knowledge of Christ perpetuate unbelief.  Once you come into agreement with God, you are on your way out of unbelief to faith, where miracles and answered prayers happen.  Learning to receive from our spirits, allows our minds to become students of  the Holy Spirit, who teaches all things.

Finally, like bad behavior, people love to justify and rationalize their unbelief. Saying things like, "I'm just keeping it real." True faith requires acknowledging harsh and hopeless truths to wage a successful belief battle. People of faith like Moses could not ignore the Red Sea before him, but instead of looking at the sea, he chose to stand still and focus on God. When you decide to believe, it puts you in agreement with God and allows HIs kingdom to come into your earthly situation.

Faith is not the absence of doubt, it is the presence of belief. Take the journey of unwavering faith and experience the peace of God that surpass all understanding.  Even in the midst of the worse thing you can never imagine, trusting God is  a bankable experience. Decide now and choose God.  Even with unbelief, simply ask Him, "Lord I believe, but help my unbelief" and watch your situation change for good.
